-YMBDAD BLOGSPOT: It was incredibly difficult not to put this album in my top 2014 list, but I wanted to play by the rules, this album being destined for a 2015 release, it didn't belong on a 2014 list. But I can tell you right now, that this album is best of 2015 list bound. Three months after first hearing it, I haven't stopped listening to it and I'm sure that this album will take its place among the two albums mentioned above along with Magister Templi's 'Lucifer Leviathan Logos' as timeless metal albums that will never grow old.

AVE NOCTUM: That Bretus has matched their music to the themes of ominous threat, through to terrified pursuit, and into an inevitable descent into madness is only to be applauded. This is an album that deserves to be played in full to appreciate the scope of the tale, and with this reissue after the original 2014 release, you now have that opportunity.

THE SLUDGELORD: I'm a huge fan of Italian Doom/Stoner Metal misfits – Bretus. I've reviewed a couple of their past releases so I already know what to expect from their 2nd album – The Shadow Over Innsmouth - with their blend of Doom/Stoner Metal with dark and creepy Occult Rock overtones. Do yourself a favour and buy this album now. It's seriously that good. Awesome stuff!!!

A while back I reviewed a Willow Ash album for RavensBane Magazine. I really enjoyed it, but said I wished there had been more "Cradle My Sig" style songs on the record. House of Earth: Retrospect scratches that particular itch, even if most of the album is at a slower tempo. Here Guest is playing to all his strengths. The music is heavy, sludgy, and raw with interludes of weirdness and samples that fit the overall feel of the record. The vocals are spot on blackened death-doom screams. mccormickjm
